Medical Note for Medicine Hat College Students
Medicine Hat College serves over 3,000 students at its Main Campus in Medicine Hat and Brooks Campus. As a smaller institution in southeastern Alberta, MHC students have fewer local healthcare options — walk-in clinic wait times in Medicine Hat can be significant, especially during exam season. The Dean's direct involvement in deferral decisions means your medical documentation needs to be professional and thorough. Accepted for exam deferrals, assignment extensions, and academic accommodations. CPSA-registered physician. Same-day delivery. $49 flat fee.
MHC Exam Deferral Policy
Students must go to the Dean to request a deferred final exam. The authority to grant or deny the deferral is vested with the Dean. For planned absences, contact the Dean at least two weeks prior to the scheduled exam.
Deadline: For illness-based deferrals, contact the Dean as soon as possible after the missed exam. For planned absences, contact the Dean at least two weeks before the exam.
Documentation: Medicine Hat College requires medical documentation for illness-based deferrals. A physician's letter confirming the dates and nature of the illness is the standard documentation expected by the Dean.
