Medical Note for University of Lethbridge Students
The University of Lethbridge serves over 8,700 students across campuses in Lethbridge, Calgary, and Edmonton. U of L is unique among Alberta institutions in requiring a $50 non-refundable deferral fee in addition to medical documentation. Students in the Dhillon School of Business, Health Sciences, and Arts & Science programs should be aware of this cost when planning for exam deferrals. The Lethbridge campus health centre is smaller than those at U of C or U of A, making off-campus physician access particularly valuable. Accepted for exam deferrals, assignment extensions, and academic accommodations. CPSA-registered physician. Same-day delivery. $49 flat fee.
U of L Exam Deferral Policy
Students apply for a deferred examination through the University of Lethbridge's online deferral portal. A non-refundable $50 deferral fee is required to submit the application. Supporting documentation must be uploaded with the application.
Deadline: Apply through the deferral portal as soon as possible after the missed exam. Most programs expect applications within 2-3 business days.
Documentation: The University of Lethbridge requires supporting documentation from a licensed medical professional for illness-based deferrals. The documentation must clearly demonstrate that the illness was serious enough to prevent exam attendance. A physician's letter with dates and confirmation of illness is the standard requirement.
